Interview: Atheist Group Launches National Campaign Against “Under God” In “Pledge Of Allegiance”

A self-described atheist group launched a national awareness campaign on Monday to protest the phrase “under God” in the “Pledge of Allegiance”.
“The idea that this is some kind of ceremonial deism, that it’s some kind of meaningless thing that doesn’t actually have to refer to anything that is religious, is something that most Americans realize is a sham,” Roy Speckhardt, the executive director of the American Humanist Association, said to TRNS in an interview.
