Freedom Follies: Ind. Catholic Diocese Learns That It Is Not Above The Law

It’s a shame that the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese still doesn’t get it. The First Amendment certainly offers powerful protections for religious freedom, but it doesn’t give houses of worship the right to act with near impunity. Had a court accepted the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese’s argument, it would have opened the door to the idea that religious organizations are immune from prosecution and most laws.
