Is Christianity Good for American Politics?

Interview, debate, discussion:

On this page are multiple links -- one to the full debate between a secularist and a Christian apologist on the question "Is Christianity Good for American Politics?" -- and others for listening to the critique of the debate or downloading it (RD Extra).

The critique is well worth listening to because it provides a thorough analysis of the flaws and inaccuracies in the arguments made by the Christian apologist, and because it provides ample evidence from John Adams and Thomas Jefferson that the Founding Fathers did not establish the United States as a "Christian nation".  In fact, it was churches that opposed the establishment of the Constitution because they argued it was not a Christian document and did not mention God.  So how did we arrive at the point in recent generations where churches now claim the Constitution as a basis for their "Christian nation" claims?
