Ken Ham Disparages Schools Showing Cosmos in Class for “Imposing Atheism on Students”
The problem with Cosmos, if you’re Ken Ham, isn’t that it promotes atheism. It’s that it promotes asking questions, looking for evidence, and understanding the scientific method. Facts, like the rest of reality, contradict everything Ham believes about the origin of the universe. No wonder he doesn’t want children exposed to them...

Texas creationist won big in Super Tuesday’s race for Board of Education
"Obama has a soft spot for homosexuals because of the years he spent as a male prostitute in his twenties. That is how he paid for his drugs. He has admitted he was addicted to drugs when he was young, and he is sympathetic with homosexuals; but he hasn’t come out of the closet about his own homosexual/bisexual background."http://www.patheos.com/blogs/danthropology/2016/03/texas-creationist-won-big-in-super-tuesdays-race-for-board-of-education/

Action Alert: Ask Your Senators to Co-Sponsor the Darwin Day Resolution
On December 17, Senator Richard Blumenthal, with help from the Secular Coalition for America, introduced the 2016 Darwin Day Resolution (S. Res. 337). This resolution recognizes February 12, 2016 as Darwin Day in honor of what would be Charles Darwin’s 207th birthday. This resolution also:http://action.secular.org/secular/app/write-a-letter?3&engagementId=155773
- States that evolution “provides humanity with a logical and intellectually compelling explanation for the diversity of life on Earth”
- Demands that the “advancement of science be protected from those unconcerned with the adverse impacts of global warming and climate change”
- Confirms that the “teaching of creationism in some public schools compromises the scientific and academic integrity of the United States’ education systems”
With recent studies showing a growing disconnect between scientists and the public, increasing and promoting scientific literacy is a critical priority. Last year marked the first time a Senate version of the resolution was introduced and we’d like to gain momentum by adding more co-sponsors. Please write to your Senators today and urge them to sign on to S. Res. 337 and affirm their commitment to science and scientific knowledge.

Creationism Whistleblower: ‘Academic Freedom’ Is Sneak Attack on Evolution
Despite the scientific-sounding name, a former Discovery Institute employee says it’s anything but.
“DI is religiously motivated in all they do,” the person said, requesting anonymity. “One way to tell that the motivation is religion, and not science, is to compare DI work product to tech papers produced by working scientists in the field of biology or subfield of evolutionary biology. The two kinds of work product look very different, read very different, and were produced by very different means.”...

Growth Industry: New Study Illustrates How Creationist Tactics Keep Evolving (Americans United - Wall of Separation)
It’s an innovative approach, and his results, which were published last Thursday in Science, support the argument that “academic freedom” bills are really intended to create a loophole that can be exploited by educators sympathetic to creationism...
