Interview:
Dan Dennett's talk at the AAI 2007 Conference in Washington, D.C. He is
presented with the 2007 Richard Dawkins award at the introduction.
Note the quote marks in the title around the word "Believing". Dennett discusses a number of reasons people feel obligated to profess faith in religion or God, even when they don't truly believe. Example: One might speculate that a, common faith keeps social order, with people all thinking alike and trusting one another; without faith to bind people, society might come apart at the seams. For them, "Don't talk about your unbelief. Don't even think about it" -- lest you cause a catastrophe for society.
