Last week [as of December 16, 2013], the House of

bill easily made its way through the House, politics in the Senate have

against the deal. And following the recent rule changes on the
filibuster pushed through by Democrats, there’s less appetite for
compromise. What’s in the budget deal and the politics of the
negotiations.
