TIL Negative stimuli is processed in the brain by the amygdala...

...whereas positive memories are processed by the hippocampus. Sleep deprivation hits the hippocampus harder than the amygdala and sleep-deprived people can have problems recalling positive memories, yet recall negative memories just fine.
